Gary Lee Boughton, age 68 of Cowan, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his residence. Gary was born in Elmira, New York on April 22, 1949 to the late Robert Boughton and Shirley Boughton Stoddard and graduated from Milton Hershey School for Boys in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
He was a retired MSGT from the United States Air Force, where he specialized in aircraft electronics and environmental systems technology.
A member of Cowan Presbyterian Church, Gary was an avid church-goer and enjoyed singing in the choir. His passion was woodworking, especially building furniture, and listening to gospel music.
His family will remember him as being compassionate in his own way, extremely loyal, honorable and proud of being in the military, but above all things a Christian.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Pam Farmer Boughton. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Phillip Stevens) Boughton of Ooltewah; stepson, John (Kathy Elkins) Fraker of Cowan; grandson, Phillip Boughton; granddaughters, Katelynn Stevens, Jordan Stevens, Jessica (Makia) Lachance, and Christy Fraker; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Thomas, Kayden Stevens, Jadrec Fraker, and Jr. Lachance; brothers, Jimmy (Nancy) Boughton of New Jersey, Jerry Boughton of Florida, Ronnie (Pamela) Boughton of New York, Leonard (Lucy) Boughton of New York; sisters, Christine Boughton of New York, and Sharon (John) Craft of New York; and beloved four-legged best friend, Shelly.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Saturday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 11, 2018 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Pittenger and Rev. Donald "Chilly" Chilson, age 59, of Mangum, passed away Sunday morning, June 9, 2013, at his residence in Mangum.
Mr. Chilson was born in Coudersport, Pennsylvania on July 15, 1953, to Donald Willard and Gloria Ann (Ryder) Chilson. Living in several different places, due to his father's position in the United States Air Force, the family moved to Colorado Spring, Colorado in 1968. While working at Walter Drake and Sons, Chilly met the love of his life, Billie Robinson. Finding who she was by looking at her time card, they began dating in November of 1973 and were married on March 2, 1974, in Colorado Springs. In December 1975, Chilly joined the United States Air Force. After assignments in Illinois, Texas, Colorado, England and Germany, the family moved to Altus Air Force Base in August of 1988 and he retired in December of 1994. While stationed at Lubbock, Chilly joined the Masons and in 1983, he became a Master Mason while stationed in England. After his retirement he worked at Ace Hardware in Mangum, dispatched part-time for the Mangum Police Department. Chilly later spent ten years with Civil Service from 1997 until 2007 and was later a camp host at Quart Mountain until 2010. A veteran of Desert Storm, he enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing in his spare time.
Preceded in death by his father-in-law, Billy R. Robinson, he is survived by his wife, Billie, of the home; two daughters, Shawn Whetstone and husband Terry of Mangum and Dawn Chilson of Lubbock, Texas; two grandchildren, Matthew Whetstone and Cassandra Whetstone; his father and mother, Mugsy and Gloria Chilson of Mangum; his mother-in-law, Ellen Robinson of Mangum; one sister, Dianna Koegler and husband Frank of Prescott, Arizona along with many other relatives and friends.
Donald Chilson will lie in state at Greer Funeral Home, in Mangum, on Monday, June 10, 2013, from noon until 8 p.m. He will lie in state at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, in Altus, on Tuesday, from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, in Altus. In honoring Chilly"s wishes, he will be cremated after his military and Masonic services. Services are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum and Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, of Altus.

Colonel James Briggs Diuguid, (Ret.)

Colonel Diuguid died in Milton, FL on August 27, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents William Edward and Addison Briggs Diuguid and an infant brother. He is survived by his wife Suzanne Diuguid.
Colonel Diuguid was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Atherton High School and Western Kentucky University. At Western, he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, the Western Players Group and President of Alpha Psi Omega Dramatic Fraternity. After graduation, Briggs taught special education at Bowling Green High School.
Colonel Diuguid joined the Air Force and graduated from pilot training at Williams AFB, AZ. He trained with the Air Commandos at Hurlburt Field, FL prior to his first deployment to Southeast Asia. Briggs spent an extensive period in Asia and was stationed in Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia.
His combat awards include the Silver Star, Purple Heart, two awards of the Distinguished Flying Cross and 22 Air Medals. He was awarded pilot's wings by the Vietnamese, Lao and Khmer Air Forces and received two awards of the Vietnam Gallantry Cross and the Khmer Medal of Honor. His other military awards include: The Legion of Merit and Four Meritorious Service Medals.
Between his tours in Asia, he served as an instructor for the first Vietnamese pilot training classes at Sheppard AFB, Texas. Colonel Diuguid was the course director for the first DOD school devoted to countering terrorism. He later flew A-10 aircraft at RAF Bentwaters, England and Leipheim Air Base, Germany. He was privileged to serve as the Air Force advisor to the Air Force Reserve's 442nd Tactical Fighter Wing during their conversion to the A-10. The enlisted force at the 442nd made him an honorary Chief Master Sergeant, an award he treasured.
He served as Course Director in the Air Ground Operations School and helped develop the first Combat Airspace Control Course. In his final assignment, he was the Commander of the Air Force ROTC detachment at the University of Louisville. While there he was appointed a Kentucky Colonel, inducted into the Arnold Air Society and selected for membership in Omicron Delta Kappa.
After leaving the Air Force, Colonel Diuguid was active in business and later worked for the Charlotte County Sheriff's Department as a counselor and teacher for convicted juvenile felons. Fully retired, he and his wife Suzanne spent several years sailing the Gulf, Bahamas and Caribbean aboard their boat-the sailing vessel "Options". They moved to Milton, Florida to enjoy being with their extended family.

Master Sergeant Retired Daniel Lee Evans, born August 31, 1946, passed away July 9, 2013 due to complications from Agent Orange.
Daniel and his wife, Karen Betterelli Evans, came full circle; they started and ended their partnership of love, 46 years to the day.
Dan spent 22 years in the Air Force and was a Vietnam Vet.
Dan enjoyed numerous activities, but his favorite, was being family and his numerous friends. He will be sorely missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Karen (Betterelli); two sons, Daniel Richard (Mindy) and Randy Alan; seven grandchildren; one sister,
Lisa Betterelli Kriner and four brothers, Roger and Richard Betterelli, Michael Kriner and W. Terry Evans.

Rocklyn Anthony (Rocky) Gaither, 75, slipped away on December 28, 2020 at his home. He was born in Ely, MN and spent his younger life as a military dependent. He had adventures in Germany, Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana.
Rocky joined the Air Force after high school graduation, spending his time in Spain and Italy. When he got out, after his four years, he came back to Ely to go to Vermilion College. He met his wife Nancy here and after they got married, he re-enlisted into the Air Force and stayed for 23 years. He retired to Ely in 1992 so he could do all the fishing and hunting he wanted. He went back to Vermilion for accounting classes, worked at the Ely Hospital and finally spent 13 years at the Minnesota Revenue Office. He retired from there in 2013.
He was preceded in death by all his grandparents, father Roy Gaither, mother Dorothy (Wattunen) Gaither, brother Roy, his uncles, Roy, Nick, Ed, RL, Glenn and Duane, Aunts Dolly, Irja, Mary and Judy.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy (Zgonc); sons Nicholas (Tiffany), New Hope; Roey, Hibbing; and grandson Grayson Gaither, brother Richard, sister Carol (Glenn) Saffle, Patsy (Jone), Aunts Carol and Jennie, nephew and nieces and cousins, all whom he loved dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Dennis Marion James, 71, of Seattle, WA, formerly of Johnson City, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was a native of Holly, Colorado and son of the late VerneJames and Roberta Gropp Kirby. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his step-father, Samuel Kirby, and his sister, Edie Kern.
Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He served a total of twenty two years, nine months and was awarded several medals and awards during his time in the Air Force including the Vietnam Service Medal (with six oak leaf clusters), Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with “V” device (with eight oak leaf clusters), Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with palm, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. After his time in the Air Force, Dennis worked at Northrop Grumman Corp, Bombardier INC, and Bell Helicopter.
He was a loving, dedicated, loyal husband, father, son, and brother. Dennis was of the Baptist faith. He was a Final Tribute Volunteer at the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Dennis enjoyed making music playlists. He also enjoyed theatre, sharing humorous stories with family and friends, and watching football. As a young man, he spent many hours running, hiking, playing sports, and riding his BMW motorcycle.
Those left to cherish Dennis’ memory include his loving wife of forty four years, Teresa A. James, his son, Samuel D. James, stepson, Ted Warren, sisters: Nancy Jankowski, and Karen Brackett; stepbrother, Bob Kirby, cousins: Diana Lee, Gina Cline, Mary Gropp McCrary, and Jack Pepper; his aunt, Noni Holtorff. Dennis’ family will honor his life and his military career with a Graveside Service at 2:30 pm on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with full military honors. Everyone is asked to meet at the new cemetery annex by 2:20 pm.

The funeral service for Richard L. Jones, MSGT USAF, Retired, of Aiken, beloved husband of Marguerite Wood Jones, will be conducted today, Thursday, July 27, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in Bethel Baptist Church in Aiken.

A celebration of life service for Mrs. Marguerite Wood Jones age 76 will be held 3:00 pm Friday, January 3, 2020 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Graniteville Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones entered into rest peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence Saturday December 28, 2019. She born in the Fairview, SC community and had made Aiken County her home for most of her life. She was the wife of the late Mr. Richard Leon Jones and a daughter of the late Mr. Homer Benjamin Wood and the late Mrs. Mary Willow Gunter Wood.
Mrs. Jones was a 1988 graduate of Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY with a degree in Nursing. She retired from Helen Hayes Hospital in Haverstraw, NY with 20 years service as a Registered Nurse.
Mrs. Jones moved back to Aiken and her passion was caring for family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and dancing. Mrs. Jones was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Aiken.
Survivors include five daughters, Donna (Anthony) Flenner, Fayetteville, NC. Deborah Hall, Aiken, Kimberly Hall, Aiken, Donna Pettitt, Arizona, Sandra Stewart, Arizona; two sons, Jeffery and Kevin Jones both of Arizona; one sister, Gloria Taylor, Warrenville and one brother, Randy Wood, Aiken; 23 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Jones was predeceased by one son, Mark Jones, three brothers, Ammon Benjamin Wood, Larry Wood, Rev. Leo Wood; two sisters, Judy Kinkle, and Annette Wood and her first husband, Vonder Hall.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested that memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church 1127 Bethel Church Road, Aiken, SC, 29801.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Hartley, Michael Durance, Chris Wood, Travis Sanchez, Brian Brooks, Michael Brooks.

John Kenneally, 73, passed away Sunday, January 26th in Victorville California.
John was born August 1st, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to John Kenneally and Ann (Pandolfo) Kenneally. He served his country for 23 years in the United States Air Force, and worked for a further 20 years as a civilian aircraft mechanic. He spent his retirement volunteering for the American Red Cross and Salvation Army.
John loved ham radio, camping, and spending time with his family. He was beloved by so many people, and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Apple Valley, CA at 9am on January 31st. Services will follow at 10am.

Charles Daniel LaPlante July 8, 1950 – January 30, 2019 Charles Daniel LaPlante, 68, passed away January 30, 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Charles was born to Charles Leon LaPlante and Edith Marie Lavoie on July 8, 1950 in Fort Fairfield, Maine and was the oldest child of seven siblings. He grew up in New England, joining the Air Force on August 19, 1969 and retiring February 1, 1990. While serving in the Air Force, Charles had the opportunity to live in many places including Hawaii, California, Iceland, Maine, Germany, Arkansas, then finally settling down in Colorado.
He was a super fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. After the military, Charles worked for the United States Olympic Training Center for 19 years as a cook. He was an avid dart player and a member of the Retired Enlisted Association. In his free time, Charles loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren. He will be loved and missed by all his friends and family, including cousins, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law’s, and numerous other family members.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Vicky Jo LaPlante (nee Boone), who he met at Hickam Air Force base in Hawaii and married on June 2, 1973. He is also survived by his children, Andrea Marie (Robert) Davenport, Jennifer Renee (Anthony) Bianco, Jacqueline Therese (Christopher) Middleton, grandchildren, Robert Todd (Jordan) Davenport II, Brittany Anise Davenport, Dominique Anastasia Davenport, Michael Antone Davenport, and great-grandson, Liam Robert. Also survived by brothers, Donald LaPlante, Joe LaPlante and Jeff LaPlante, sisters, Ruth Chick, Mary Barrett, Judy Turner, and Nancy Garland. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Edith LaPlante, his step-mother Rita, nieces Whitley Reeves Barnard and Amanda Lee Burks, sister-in-law Pricilla Louise, and in-laws Eugene and Clarice Boone.
Charles’ life will be celebrated with a visitation Monday, February 4, 2019 from 6-8 PM at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S US Hwy 85/87 in Fountain, CO. There will also be funeral service Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 10 AM, followed by a reception, both at Dove-Witt, then a committal burial service at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Rd, Colorado Springs, 80925. Rexie Leon Renfrow, Jr. 61, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018. Rexie served his country in the United States Air Force for 14 years before retiring. He then worked a security guard for a short time.
He loved to fish, build model cars and care for his cats. Rexie was a loving son, brother and friend and will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his mother, Lou Renfrow; brother, Jack Renfrow; sister, Lisa Wilson; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Rexie Renfrow, Sr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite military charity.
